The Late Mandarin of Ciaculli owes its name to its origin, limited to a very small area near Palermo: the villages of Ciaculli and Croceverde Giardina which are grown almost entirely on mandarins.

In 1940 a new variety was born that ripened later, it is called late because its ripening takes place later than the other varieties. precisely in these months, from February to March when the harvest of the traditional mandarin is now at the end. It is a tangerine, a Slow Food presidium, with a flattened shape, very sweet and juicy.

Citrus fruits contain vitamin C which has antioxidant properties and contributes to the strengthening of the immune system; Tardivo di Ciaculli is also rich in vitamins B1 and B2, which stimulate appetite, growth, digestion and improve the respiratory system, are suitable for the care of the nervous system.

Of course, the surprises do not end there. Ciaculli's late mandarin is fantastic with its unique taste and aroma and is well suited to making an excellent citrus jam. And this will be really fantastic, with an unmissable taste and scent! Try it on a slice of toasted hot bread, you will smell incredible aromas!
