Bees also produce honey starting from the honeydew, which they can collect thanks to the intervention of insects that suck the sap of the plants.

Honey has shades of color ranging from dark brown to near black, making it the darkest honey on the market for sure. The dark color is a hallmark of its richness in antioxidants.

Among the various types of honey, it is the one with the greatest number of mineral salts and trace elements: calcium, magnesium, manganese, sodium, potassium, copper, chromium and iron, of which it is particularly rich. It also has many vitamins and numerous essential amino acids. Furthermore, it has a viscous consistency, but it never crystallizes completely. The flavor is less sweet than that of nectar honeys and has a particular earthy and bark aftertaste.
